Podcast Episode 23: Overcoming Discouragement and Overwhelm with Trisha Biesenger

Discouragement, Overwhelm and SHAME are often feelings that come up when we start trying to make positive change, and they seem to be especially prevalent when our change has to do with our health and bodies.

I had the pleasure of several coaching sessions with Trisha and in my last one I was crying and crying and crying. Do you want to know what about?

My house not being as clean as I would like it.

Even though I know that I have five boys running around and I spend a lot of time doing a lot of different things and I prefer not to spend all day trying to keep my house clean in ways that it gets undone quickly, I still had a lot of shame around this. I was so grateful for Trisha giving me her outside perspective to see and acknowledge and validate all that I was doing, notice the shame, and set it aside so that I could focus my time and energy on better things.

Shame is something that is part of being human.

We all have it, and we have it about different things. Since I know that it frequently comes up around food issues, I wanted to address this give you some of the powerful tools that Trisha shared with me.

I hope this helps you notice places where shame is holding you back, and allow you to put it in the back seat so you can go out and do all that you were born to do!
